Carefree Date Night Elegance {those little black trousers}

Happy Friday, ladies!  What are your plans for the weekend?  Ours will be pretty low key as always, but we do have a sitter Saturday afternoon and evening.   Yay!  We are planning to head into the city to wander around…drink & eat.  I’m definitely looking forward to getting out!

A Commentary on why you need those little black trousers

Speaking of getting out on a date…  I love getting all dressed up as much as every fashion minded lady does, but some occasions call for something carefree & comfortable yet still elegant & feminine.   Today’s look is something I styled with this in mind.  Although the same vibe can be achieved by dressing up jeans or slipping into a sweater dress,  there is nothing like a tailored pair of straight cut black pants.  I think every lady needs a pair.  They can be dressed to the nines or styled with a pair of trainers for a city stroll, and they never ever go out of style.

Be selective in finding your perfect pair.   It took me a long time to find everything I was looking in this must have wardrobe staple.  After exhaustive searching, I found the Chambery pant by Wilfred via Aritzia.  I can’t link up to these below, but click here to shop the exact pair I’m wearing.  I absolutely love them so plan on seeing a lot of them here on the blog:).  I would say they run a tad small.   I’m almost always a size 4 in dress pants & skirts but these are a 6.   For reference, I hate things tight so I always size up when on the cusp.  I guess it all depends on the fit you prefer.  Also, I will link up to some similar options below as well.

I’m wearing:

 chambery pant Aritzia | Babaton Albert T shirt Aritzia | Bvlgari sunnies | The Providence Story clutch | Sam Edelman flats
