photo journal vol. 3 {summer 2017}

A few things that always work for me… Levi’s, white t shirts, & green tea!

If you ever find yourself in Kennebunkport, ME.  you’ve got to pop into Old Vines Wine Bar.  Fabulous spot with delicious Tapas  a comprehensive wine list. and a very relaxing ambience!

We were definitely on the move this summer.  Lots of little mini trips.  First, we packed up the doggies for a family adventure in  North Conway, NH.  Our daughter took a friend and my bestie came along too.  We took the pups on a long hike which they loved, and so did I (but the rest of the clan didn’t).  My Nero(lab/greyhound mix) ran me all the way up the mountain!  Great workout but if you are not up for that…don’t take a greyhound on a hike.  LOL!

Hubby and I spent a few days in Kennebunkport and then the bff and I flew down to Marco Island, Fla. for a long weekend of sunshine and cocktails.  We found the perfect little Tiki bar on the beach.  Dreamy!

It is always nice to explore other places and unwind and I’m so grateful that, for me, sometimes it is even nicer to get home to all my creature comforts.  When we are fortunate enough to curate a life we enjoy on a day to day basis, we are truly blessed.  Speaking of carefully curated lifestyles, the blog has been on my mind so much lately.  I know this internet space of mine is significant in my life, and I know it has the potential to grow a lot more than it has.  I need to find that balance… a way to appease the needs of my active family, find a suitable time to do outfit shoots now that hubby is working in the office every day, and most of all… I need to make sure I elicit  (from my family) the respect my passion deserves.  Perhaps I’m oversharing a bit here, but the truth is the blog has always been a point of contention with those closest to me.  I’m not sure why but I’ve let that affect my motivation and inspiration and I need to find a way around this obstacle.   As many of you know, I’ve taken a lot of time off this year to work through these roadblocks and concerns.  We had a wonderful summer with lots of quality time together and memories made without the blog taking away from being present in the moment.  This is so important sometimes!  But…I’m ready to come back and make Classy Ever After a priority again.  I’ve got some good stuff planned and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.  Let it be as God intends…

I hope you enjoy this photo journal of my summer.  I will link up to the exact or similar wardrobe details all directly below.

We have been hitting up quite a few breweries  lately.  I guess this is the least I could do for the man who hates red wine and still agreed to spend a week in Tuscany a few years back.   That is vino Rosso country!  I actually love beer, but try not to drink it too much for reasons that I’m sure all of you who know me can guess.

Anyway, I highly recommend Allagash.  Great tour, and tasting.   And, you can sit outside to enjoy a flight or two and bring your pup(s) along.

It is impossible to style vacation looks and pack without feline approval.  Anyone who has one or more of these divine creatures knows that feline approval comes in the form of sniffs and sprawling out on top of clothing, bags, hats, scarves, etc.   Criteria is (1) it smells like you (2) you prefer that it not get covered in fur.   She likes this dress because it is black and she knows she can send me off with reminders of her felinity!

We celebrated a dear friend’s wedding this summer.   Amazing bachelorette weekend, and then a more intimate toast to her a few days before she tied the knot.   Girlfriends are everything!

A glass of vino at  The Cider Company in North Conway, NH.   One of my favorite spots up there, simple elegance at it’s best!

I took this shot at Idle Thyme in Stowe , VT.  One of the most inspiring interior decorating situations ever.  Stunning!

Healthy clean food and red wine are every day favorite things for me, and then there is the hot n dirty martinis.  Those are my treat cocktail.   So delish!

Thanks for reading, my friends.   If I left out any details you’re curious about, leave me a comment or shoot me an email.  I love hearing from you!  Even if your not curious, I still love hearing from you! XO
